I have just broken out in lots of spots. Help! I've tried everything and my doctor is no help.
Kirsty from Bedford

I recently wrote a very detailed article about this problem. It tells you lots of information but if its home skin care you're after, I would recommend the Karin Herzog Cleanser, followed by the Toner then Mild Scrub, which is gentle enough to use every day and gets rid of dead skin cells. Then I would use Oxygen Face Cream. This stuff really is amazing and sorted out my acne problem when nothing else did. The Oxygen cream fully hydrates your skin, normalising sebum production while the antiseptic properties of the oxygen kill any bacteria deep within your pores, not giving them a chance to turn into spots. It won't be long before you really notice a difference. I would recommend having a proper consultation before buying any of these products, to make sure that you are buying the ones that are correct for your skin.

I have always had red dots on my upper arms. Is there anything I can do to reduce them?
Rebecca from Belfast

What I would do is call this number: 0800 0562428 to find your nearest Karin Herzog salon. We use these products and they are pretty amazing. One cream that would be good for you is the Oxygen Body 3% without fragrance. It produces an internal shower which flushes out toxins and detoxifies your skin while at the same time creating a micro massage of your tissues. As it penetrates your skin you can actually feel it tingle - it stimulates circulation while hydrating and softening your skin. If you pop into your nearest salon, ask them to pop a bit on your arm so you can see it and feel it working.

A treatment you can try is the Bodicial. This incorporates manual lymphatic drainage which will really flush out those toxins and improve circulation. It will also leave you fully refreshed and revitalised.

How do I get rid of my horrible ingrowing hairs? I keep trying to get them with my tweezers but they seem to just get worse!
Kate from Bedford

Hi Kate. Ingrowing hairs are a real common problem. Sometimes its really hard to nab them with your tweezers and all you're left with afterwards is a big red mark. Make sure you exfoliate regularly. We have the Karin Herzog Shower Body Scrub made from ground spherical marble pieces which are gentle yet effective enough to remove all the dead surface skin cells that keep ingrowing hairs trapped. Use about two times a week. Then, once a day you should use Oxygen Body 1% with Fruit Acids. This is a lovely, light, fruity daily moisturiser by Karin Herzog. The fruit acids gently dissolve dead skin cells while the oxygen penetrates your skin leaving it fully hydrated and moisturised. Exfoliate and moisturise all in one; this will force out ingrowing hairs and prevent new ones from appearing, as well as increasing the circulation in your skin.

I get a really shiny face throughout the day. How can I stop this happening? I've tried loads of matifying products but none of them have worked.
Mel from Newcastle

Hi Mel. It seems that you may be using products on your face that are too harsh for you. The chemicals in your facial care are stripping your skin of its natural moisture, so to compensate your skin will keep producing more sebum which unfortunately gives you a shiny face. Many matifying products just try to soak this extra oil up rather than address the cause. What you need to do is look at your skincare and try a different make, one that is more gentle with less chemicals. Karin Herzog products would be really good for you as all they contain are ingredients that your skin actually recognises and needs. The main ingredients are oxygen, water and vitamins. The water in particular will penetrate your skin (with the power of the oxygen), will keep it hydrated so your skin will not need to produce extra oil and so your face will not be so shiny! A consultation is vital to ensure that you choose the correct Karin Herzog products. If you have a Karin Herzog salon near you, you may like to try the Citrus Complexion Brightener facial. It uses fresh lemons, limes and mint with oxygen to break down those excess oils and leave you with a fresh and glowing complexion.

I have a holiday booked for next month and would really like to look the part whilst I'm abroad. I know my skin will get very dry as it always does in the sun, can you help?
Kim from Clophill

Here is the perfect product for you! Karin Herzog Oxygen Sun Cream is a tan accelerator and maximiser in one. This cream will provide your skin with the raw materials to help it stay well hydrated and also aid healing and repair, whilst minimising peeling and blistering and will result in an even healthy tan. Use at least 2 weeks before you go away and then before and after you go in the sun. This cream is fantastic because the oxygen will ensure that the skin has the energy to compensate against the aggressive sunlight. Oxygen helps to redistribute the skins own melanin to help provide a more even natural protection. AND delivering extra water will ensure a higher moisture content in the skin and help to keep the skin hydrated during sun exposure. Have a lovely holiday!

My eyelashes are very short and mascara doesn't do much apart from give me clumpy little stumps! What can I do? I desperately want long lashes!
Kim from Maulden

Try using lengthening mascara like Barry M Lengthening Mascara in Jet Black. If your lashes are fair, I would get them tinted in blue/black because the darker they are, the longer they look. Rather than using eyelash curlers (which some look really scary!), have an eyelash perm. Your lashes will permanently curl upwards giving them a much longer look. On a special night out, you could treat yourself to some individual lash extensions. They look very glamorous yet natural and sexy.

When I wax my legs, they end up really red and bumpy. What can I do to get rid of this quickly?
Sally from Bedford

The night before you wax, exfoliate your skin to get rid of dead skin cells which can clog your hair follicles. Then thoroughly moisturise your skin to soften the surface. I have exactly the same problem so after waxing I use Karin Herzog Oxygen Body 1% with fruit acids. It is actually an all over body exfoliator and moisturiser in one. It is a mild antiseptic so will kill any bacteria on the surface of the skin and gets your circulation going. And, it really calms down the redness quickly!

I've been trying to grow my nails for ages but they just won't grow! They keep breaking. What can I do?
Julie, from Biggleswade

Nails are very important and it's amazing how many people actually notice your nails! So nice nails are definitely a must! Firstly, I would have a manicure. This will nourish your cuticles and make sure they are not stifling your nail growth. You then have two options:

Firstly, you could buy a good nail nourisher. We like Bio Solutions for Thick Nails. This is perfect for nails that split or peel and break easily. It contains Jasmine to promote strength and Japanese Green Tea to enhance healthy cell growth. Apply one coat twice a week. If you have recently had nail enhancements which have left you with damaged nails, try Bio Solutions for Strong Nails instead. It contains Echinacea to stimulate nail cells and Chamomile to soothe damaged nails. Apply every day for the first 7 days, and then use twice a week only. You'll have lovely nails in no time!

The second option is to try our new Bio Sculpture Nail Enhancements. While you have short nails, it's a fantastic non chip gel nail colour that also protects your nails, giving them a chance to grow. You can even have them in extensions - long nails while your real nails catch up! They do not damage your natural nails at all but instead strengthen and condition them.
