At the age of 38 I am now getting the spots I never had as a teenager! They are all on my chin and deep under the skin. They take 2 weeks to develop properly and 2 weeks to disappear leaving red marks for months after as I have very pale skin. Any suggestions to stop the spots coming?
— Tanya from Stratford on Avon
Thanks for your enquiry. I have the best spot cream and it is perfect for the type of spots you get. It is the Vita Kombi 3% by Karin Herzog. It comes in a little 17ml pot for only £18. As soon as you feel the spot appearing, put a little tiny bit of the cream on the spot. You'll find that by the morning it would have gone down dramatically or, if you've caught it early enough, it will have disappeared. The cream contains 3% oxygen which will penetrate your skin killing bacteria and increasing cell regeneration, while the vitamins contained in the cream will balance and hydrate your skin. And, it greatly reduces scarring.

I have these little hairs all over my legs and thighs that grow right under the first little layer of skin. It's not an ingrown hair that hurts, but I can use my tweezers and easily pull the little hair from under the skin. I've been looking all over the internet and have not found anything. Is this a skin problem? Is my only option lasik hair removal? Help? I hate to wear shorts or a bathing suit because of this. I'm only 21 years old. I also get it on my arms a little as well.

Hello! Even though they are not painful ingrowing hairs, they are still ingrowing hairs. They just haven't got the strength to push through that last layer of skin and so they sit just under the surface. The best thing for you to do is to exfoliate daily; this will get rid of the dead tougher top layer of skin, making it easier for those little weak hairs to poke through. Don't worry, this is quite common and can be easily solved.
I had a historechtomy done 10 years ago and ever since then my underarms and the inside of the thighs have become darker and it is causing me concern. Can you help please?
— Latifa from Dunstable
Thanks for your beauty dilemma. When you say darker, do you mean dark patches on your skin? Is it your skin that has changed colour? Like pigmentation marks? Please could you give me as much information as possible. Also, have you been to your doctor about this? It is probably linked to your hysterectomy. Look forward to hearing from you soon.
Thanks for your reply. The skin has gone darker like darker brown compared to the rest of the skin, also on the inside of my thighs has gone darker. No I have not been to my doctor about this as I am embarrassed. Can you help?
Thanks for writing back. Without seeing for myself, I think it sounds like you have a pigmentation problem. This is quite common after a hysterectomy. There are creams on the market, but your doctor will have some as well and it will work out much cheaper for you. Don't be embarrassed, as it is very common but if you really don't want to go to the doctor, there is a cream by Crystal Clear called Skin Brightening Complex which is very good for pigmentation and skin tone. This costs £37.50 and available from Beauty salons. If you look on the Crystal Clear Website, you will be able to find your nearest stockist.
Since I was about 19 I have been having problems with my skin (face). I already consulted a few consultants who gave me treatments but most of the creams they prescribed for acne treatment are too strong and burn my skin. My skin is very sensitive, doesn't really support any make-up, and tends to be extremely dry in winter and a bit oily in summer. The spots and scars and mostly on my chicks. and chin. I am 25, and an Afro-Caribbean woman. Please can you help
— Veronica from Pinner
Hi Veronica, and thanks for contacting us.
Unfortunately, a lot of acne treatments are very strong. The only cream that I can honestly say worked for my acne is the Karin Herzog Oxygen Face Cream. It contains high amounts of Oxygen and Vitamin E, which will help to balance your skin and avoid the problem of dry skin in the winter and oily skin in the summer. As oxygen is a natural antiseptic, it will kill bacteria under your skin, reducing any further acne breakouts. If you do get the occasional spot, another good product is Vita Kombi 3, again by Karin Herzog. It gives your skin the necessary energy and ingredients to create new balanced skin at an accelerated rate
Look on the Karin Herzog website on Karin Herzog for further information or to see where your nearest salon is.
